Description:

The SonicWALL WebCacheCleaner ActiveX control could allow a remote attacker to delete arbitrary files on the system, caused by insecure use of the FileDelete() method. By persuading a victim to visit a specially-crafted Web site, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to corrupt and delete arbitrary files on the system.

  • SonicWALL, SonicWALL SSL-VPN 200 prior to 2.1

  • SonicWALL, SonicWALL SSL-VPN 4000 prior to 2.5

Remedy:

For SonicWALL SSL-VPN 200:
Upgrade to the latest firmware (2.1 or later), available from the SonicWALL, Inc. Web site. See References.

For SSL-VPN 2000 and SSL-VPN 4000:
Upgrade to the latest firmware (2.5 or later), available from the SonicWALL, Inc. Web site. See References.
