Perl Archive::Tar module directory traversal
| perl-archivetar-directory-traversal (38285) |
Description:
The Perl Archive::Tar module could allow a remote attacker to traverse directories on the system. By persuading a victim to extract a specially-crafted TAR archive containing "dot dot" sequences (/../) or an absolute path within a file name, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to overwrite or create arbitrary files on the system with the privileges of the victim.
