Apple Mac OS X Networking component IPV6 code execution

macosx-ipv6-code-execution (38474) The risk level is classified as HighHigh Risk

Description:

The Apple Mac OS X Networking component could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by a double-free memory corruption vulnerability when handling IPV6 packets. By sending specially-crafted IPV6 packets to a vulnerable system, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to corrupt memory and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the system to crash.

Note: Intel-based systems are not affected by this vulnerability.
