Description:

Apple Safari for Mac OS X and Windows XP and Vista is vulnerable to cross-site scripting, caused by improper validation of certain JavaScript events when they are associated with the wrong frame. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using a specially-crafted URL to execute script in a victim's Web browser within the security context of another Web site, once the URL is clicked. An attacker could use this vulnerability to steal the victim's cookie-based authentication credentials.

Remedy:

For Windows Vista and Windows XP:
Upgrade to the latest version of Apple Safari (3.0.4 beta or later), available from the Apple Web site. See References.

For Apple Mac OS X:
Apply Apple Security Update 2007-008 or upgrade to the latest version of Mac OS X (10.4.11 or later), available from the Apple Web site. See References.
