Apple QuickTime QTL file buffer overflow
| quicktime-qtl-bo (39029) |
Description:
Apple QuickTime is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking of QTL files. By persuading a victim to open a malformed QTL file, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the application to crash. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending the malicious file as an email attachment or by hosting it on a Web site.
