Description:

Apple Mac OS X could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by improper handling of GUID partition maps within a disk image. By persuading a victim to open a specially-crafted disk image, a remote attacker could corrupt memory in the IO Storage Family code and execute arbitrary code on the system with the privileges of the victim or cause the application to crash. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending the malicious image as an email attachment or embedding the image within a document.
