Macrovision ActiveX control (isusweb.dll) buffer overflow
| macrovision-isusweb-bo (39204) |
Description:
The Macrovision ActiveX control (isusweb.dll), which is included in the InstallShield Update Service is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the DownloadAndExecute() function. By persuading a victim to visit a specially-crafted Web page that passes an overly long argument using the ProductCode parameter, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with the privileges of the victim or cause the victim's browser to crash.
