PHP session_save_path and error_log security bypass

Description:
PHP could allow a remote attacker to bypass security restrictions, caused by the improper processing of the session_save_path and error_log values. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to bypass open_basedir and safe_mode directives and gain unauthorized access to the system.
Platforms Affected:
- PHP, PHP prior to 4.4.8
Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of PHP (4.4.8 or later), available from the PHP Web site. See References.
