Apple QuickTime RTSP responses buffer overflow
| quicktime-rtsp-responses-bo (39601) |
Description:
Apple QuickTime is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking when handling RTSP responses. By persuading a victim to visit a specially-crafted Web site or open a specially-crafted QTL file and attempt to display a malformed "Reason-Phrase", a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the application to crash. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending the malicious file as an email attachment or by hosting it on a Web site.
