Winamp in_mp3.dll buffer overflow

Description:
Winamp is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by in_mp3.dll during the parsing of metadata. By sending an overly long artist or name tag, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with elevated privileges or cause the application to crash.

Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of Winamp (5.52 or later), available from the Winamp Web site. See References.
