Description:

libicu (International Components for Unicode library) is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the doInterval function. By sending a specially-crafted regular expression to the backtracking stack, a local attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with elevated privileges or cause linked applications to crash.
