IBM Informix Dynamic Server XDR multiple buffer overflows

ibm-ids-xdr-bo (40018) The risk level is classified as HighHigh Risk

Description:

IBM Informix Dynamic Server is vulnerable to multiple stack and heap-based buffer overflows, caused by improper bounds checking by the library containing the XDR functions which are used by the RPC components. By sending specially-crafted RPC requests to various Informix Storage Manager RPC ports, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with administrative privileges or cause the server to crash.
