PCRE library subpattern denial of service
| pcre-library-subpattern-dos (40020) |
Description:
The PCRE (Perl Compatible Regular Expressions) library is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by the improper handling of malformed regular expressions involving a "subpattern containing a subroutine reference or named recursion" that could result in improper memory allocation. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using unspecified attack vectors to cause an application linked to the vulnerable library to crash.
