Microsoft Windows Video Controller ActiveX Library for streaming video (msvidctl.dll) buffer overflow
| win-msvidctl-bo (40693) |
Description:
The Microsoft Video Controller ActiveX Library for streaming video (msvidctl.dll) is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the CComVariant::ReadFromStream function used in the ATL header. By persuading a victim to visit a specially-crafted Web page, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with the privileges of the victim or cause the victim's browser to crash.
