Apple Mac OS X AppKit code execution

macos-appkit-code-execution (41314) The risk level is classified as HighHigh Risk

Description:

Apple Mac OS X could allow a local attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by an error in the AppKit component. The NSApplication mach port is mistakenly made ready for inter-process communication rather than inter-thread communication. By sending a specially-crafted message to an application in the same bootstrap namespace, a local attacker could exploit this vulnerability and execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM level privileges.

  • Apple, Mac OS X Server 10.4.11
