VLC media player MP4_ReadBox_rdrf() buffer overflow
| vlcmediaplayer-mp4readbox-rdrf-bo (41412) |
Description:
VLC media player is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow, caused by an integer overflow error in the MP4_ReadBox_rdrf function in the libmp4.c file. By persuading a victim to open a specially-crafted MP4 file containing a malicious RDRF atom, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause a denial of service.
