SILC Client Server Toolkit silc_pkcs1_decode() buffer overflow

silc-silcpkcs1decode-bo (41474) The risk level is classified as HighHigh Risk

Description:

SILC Client, SILC Server, and SILC Toolkit are vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by an integer overflow error in the silc_pkcs1_decode() function in silcpkcs1.c. By sending a specially-crafted PKCS#1 encoded packet, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and exploit this vulnerability to corrupt memory and execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service.

NOTE: the researcher describes this as an integer overflow, but CVE uses the underflow term in cases of wraparound from unsigned subtraction.
