Multiple BSD systems strfmon() integer overflow
| bsd-strfmon-overflow (41504) |
Description:
Multiple BSD systems are vulnerable to multiple integer overflows, caused by improper bounds checking by the strfmon() function in the libc library. By sending a specially-crafted value containing malicious format specifiers, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the system to crash.
