InspIRCd namesx and uhnames modules buffer overflow
| inspircd-namesx-uhnames-bo (41543) |
Description:
InspIRCd is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the namesx and uhnames modules. By sending specially-crafted nicknames, idents, and long hostnames via a large number of channel users, an attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with elevated privileges or cause the application to crash.
