Symantec AutoFix Tool ActiveX control launchProcess() code execution
| symantec-autofixtool-code-execution (41631) |
Description:
The Symantec AutoFix Tool ActiveX control (SYMADATA.DLL) could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by an error in the launchProcess() function when the victim's system is configured to allow access to remote shares via WebDav or SMB. By persuading a victim to visit a specially-crafted Web site, a remote attacker could load and execute arbitrary files on the system with privileges of the victim.
