Description:

HP Network Node Manager is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by ovspmd.exe. By sending an overly long request to TCP port 8886, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with elevated privileges or cause the application to crash.

Platforms Affected:

  • HP, Network Node Manager 7.53 and prior
