Clam AntiVirus (ClamAV) cli_scanpe() buffer overflow
| clamav-cliscanpe-bo (41789) |
Description:
Clam AntiVirus (ClavAV) is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the cli_scanpe() function in the libclamav/pe.c library. By creating a specially-crafted Upack executable, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the application to crash, once the Upack executable is scanned.
