Description:
IBM DB2 could allow a local attacker with authorization to stop and start the DB2 Administration Server to launch a symlink attack. The db2dasrrm process creates temporary files insecurely. A local attacker could exploit this vulnerability by creating a symbolic link from the dasRecoveryIndex, dasRecoveryIndex.tmp, .dasRecoveryIndex.lock, and dasRecoveryIndex.cor temporary files to other files on the system, which would allow the attacker to overwrite arbitrary files on the system with elevated privileges.
