VideoLAN VLC media player ParseSSA() buffer overflow
| vlc-parsessa-bo (41936) |
Description:
VideoLAN VLC media player is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the ParseSSA function. By persuading a victim to load a SSA media file containing an overly long subtitle, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the application to crash.
