Description:
aptlinex could allow a local attacker to launch a symlink attack. The ModMain.module uses the "gambas-apt.lock" temporary file insecurely. A local attacker could exploit this vulnerability by creating a symbolic link from the "gambas-apt.lock" temporary file to other files on the system which would allow the attacker to overwrite arbitrary files on the system with elevated privileges.

Upgrade to the latest version of aptlinex (0.91-1 or later), available from the Debian Web site. See References.
