MySQL MyISAM security bypass

Description:
MySQL could allow a local attacker to bypass security restrictions. By creating a MyISAM table modified with DATA DIRECTORY and INDEX DIRECTORY arguments, a local attacker could bypass security checks and overwrite existing table files and gain unauthorized access to future tables in the MySQL directory.

Remedy:
For MySQL 4.1:
Upgrade to the latest version of MySQL (4.1.24 or later), available from the MySQL Web site. See References.
For MySQL 5.0:
Upgrade to the latest version of MySQL (5.0.60 or later), available from the MySQL Web site. See References.
For other distributions:
Apply the appropriate update for your system. See References.
