GnuTLS _gnutls_server_name_recv_params() buffer overflow
| gnutls-gnutlsservernamerecvparams-bo (42532) |
Description:
GnuTLS is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow, caused by improper validation of data by the _gnutls_server_name_recv_params function. By sending a TLS 1.0 Client Hello message containing a specially-crafted server name extension, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with elevated privileges or cause the application to crash.
