Description:

Mambo is vulnerable to HTTP response splitting attacks, caused by improper validation of input. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using unspecified parameters in a specially-crafted URL to inject arbitrary HTTP headers and cause the server to return a split response, once the URL is clicked. This would allow the attacker to perform further attacks, such as Web cache poisoning, cross-site scripting, and possibly obtain sensitive information.

Platforms Affected:

  • Mamboserver, Mambo 4.6.3 and prior

Remedy:

Upgrade to the latest version of Mambo (4.6.4 or later), available from the Mambo Web site. See References.
