Description:
Apple Mac OS X Image Capture could allow a local attacker to launch a symlink attack, caused by the improper handling of temporary files that are created with insecure permissions. A local attacker could exploit this vulnerability by creating a symbolic link from a temporary file to other files on the system, which would allow the attacker to overwrite arbitrary files on the system with the privileges of the victim, access the contents of images being resized, or obtain sensitive information.
