NASA's BigView getline() buffer overflow

Description:
NASA's BigView is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the getline function. By persuading a victim to open a specially-crafted PNM file containing an overly long header value, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with elevated privileges or cause the application to crash.
