Skype file: URI handler case-sensitive comparison security bypass
| skype-fileuri-case-security-bypass (43044) |
Description:
Skype could allow a remote attacker to bypass security restrictions, caused by improper filtering of certain executable file extensions. By persuading a victim to open a specially-crafted file: URI containing certain case characters that circumvent case-sensitive comparisons, an attacker could bypass security warning dialogs and blacklist filtering to possibly execute arbitrary code on the system.
