Sun Solaris ip_set_srcfilter() function code execution

solaris-ipsetsrcfilter-code-execution (43068) The risk level is classified as HighHigh Risk

Description:

Sun Solaris could allow a local attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by an integer overflow error in the ip_set_srcfilter() function. By sending a specially-crafted SIOCSIPMSFILTER IOCTL request, a local attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause a system panic or execute arbitrary code on the system with kernel level privileges.

NOTE: this was reported as an integer overflow, but the root cause involves the bypass of a signed comparison.
