Blue Coat K9 Web Protection HTTP version buffer overflow

bluecoat-k9-version-bo (44124) The risk level is classified as HighHigh Risk

Description:

Blue Coat K9 Web Protection is vulnerable to multiple stack-based buffer overflows in the filter service (k9filter.exe). By sending a specially-crafted HTTP response containing overly long version information, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the service to crash.

Note: In order to exploit this vulnerability, the attacker would need to perform DNS cache poisoning or use man-in-the-middle techniques to intercept a victim's request.
