Sun xVM VirtualBox privilege escalation
| sun-xvmvirtualbox-privilege-escalation (44202) |
Description:
Sun xVM VirtualBox could allow a local attacker to gain elevated privileges on the system, caused by improper validation of user-supplied input in the VBoxDrv.sys driver. By sending a specially-crafted IOCTL request with a METHOD_NEITHER buffering mode, a local attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the host system with kernel-level privileges.
