Apache HTTP Server mod_proxy_ftp cross-site scripting

apache-modproxyftp-xss (44223) The risk level is classified as MediumMedium Risk

Description:

Apache HTTP Server is vulnerable to cross-site scripting, caused by improper validation of user-supplied input by the mod_proxy_ftp module. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using an FTP wildcard character in a specially-crafted URL to execute script in a victim's Web browser within the security context of the hosting Web site, once the URL is clicked. An attacker could use this vulnerability to steal the victim's cookie-based authentication credentials.

Note: This vulnerability affects multiple vendor HTTP server components that utilize the Apache mod_proxy_ftp module. See References.IBM3
