Description:
HP Linux Imaging and Printing (HPLIP) could allow a local attacker to gain elevated privileges on the system, caused by an error in the alert-mailing functionality. By sending a specially-crafted packet that triggers alert mails to be sent from the root account, a local attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the system with root privileges.
