Multiple BSD icmp6_mtudisc_update() denial of service

bsd-icmp6mtudiscupdate-dos (44908) The risk level is classified as MediumMedium Risk

Description:

Multiple BSD products are vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by an error in the icmp6_mtudisc_update() function when handling ICMPv6 messages. By sending a specially-crafted ICMPv6 "Packet Too Big" message, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause a panic within the IPv6 stack resulting in a denial of service.
