Microsoft Windows Active Directory LDAP search buffer overflow
| win-active-directory-ldap-bo (45585) |
Description:
Microsoft Windows 2000 when running as an Active Directory Server is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper allocation of memory by the LDAP service. By sending a specially-crafted LDAP request to a vulnerable server, a remote attacker from within the local network could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the system to become unresponsive and eventually restart.
