GNU enscript read_special_escape() buffer overflow
| enscript-readspecialescape-bo (46026) |
Description:
GNU enscript is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the read_special_escape() function. By persuading a victim to convert a specially-crafted ASCII file to PostScript with the -e option enabled, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with elevated privileges or cause the application to crash.
