Microsoft SQL Server sp_replwritetovarbin() buffer overflow

mssql-spreplwritetovarbin-bo (47182) The risk level is classified as HighHigh Risk

Description:

Microsoft SQL Server is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the sp_replwritetovarbin() stored procedure. By sending a specially-crafted argument with uninitialized variables as parameters, a remote authenticated attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with privileges of the SQL Server process or cause the application to crash.
