libpng pointer arrays code execution

libpng-pointer-arrays-code-execution (48819) The risk level is classified as HighHigh Risk

Description:

libpng could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by the improper initialization of specific pointer arrays before freeing array data structures. By sending a specially-crafted PNG file, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the system or cause a denial of service.

Note: This vulnerability also affects various 3rd party applications that use the libpng library.
