Cisco IOS multiple features IP sockets denial of service

ios-features-ipsockets-dos (49418) The risk level is classified as MediumMedium Risk

Description:

Cisco IOS is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by the improper handling of IP sockets when multiple features of Cisco IOS software are enabled. By sending specially-crafted TCP/IP packets to multiple TCP ports, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to consume all available memory or CPU resources, prevent accepting new connections or cause the device to reload, resulting in a denial of service.

    The following features are affected:
  1. Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express
  2. SIP Gateway Signaling Support Over Transport Layer Security (TLS) Transport
  3. Secure Signaling and Media Encryption
  4. Blocks Extensible Exchange Protocol (BEEP)
  5. Network Admission Control HTTP Authentication Proxy
  6. Per-user URL Redirect for EAPoUDP, Dot1x, and MAC Authentication Bypass
  7. Distributed Director with HTTP Redirects
  8. TCP DNS
