IBM WebSphere Application Server administrative console forced logout session hijacking

websphere-console-session-hijacking (49499) The risk level is classified as MediumMedium Risk

Description:

IBM WebSphere Application Server is vulnerable to session hijacking. User sessions within the WebSphere administrative console might be subject to unauthorized access if a forced logout is performed by the current user. A forced logout is defined as providing the same credentials, as the WebSphere administrative logon page, for a user who is already logged into the administrative console and submitting that login request. A remote attacker with valid authentication credentials could exploit this vulnerability to gain unauthorized access to an authenticated session. This vulnerability does not affect the wsadmin command.IBM3
