Description:
MDaemon could allow a remote attacker to hijack session IDs. When an email recipient clicks on a link, the program relays the session ID back to the address in the referrer field of the HTTP request. A remote attacker can use this to remotely access the user's mailbox.
Platforms Affected:
- Alt-N, MDaemon 2.8
Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of MDaemon (2.8.7.5 or later), available from the Alt-N MDaemon Support FTP site. See References.
