Sun Java Runtime Environment JPEG buffer overflow
| sun-jre-jpeg-bo (52339) |
Description:
Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow, caused by an integer overflow when parsing custom JPEG splash screen images for a WebStart application. By persuading a victim to launch an untrusted applet or Java Web Start application, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the application to crash.
