Microsoft Windows Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS) denial of service
| win-lsass-dos (53511) |
Description:
Microsoft Windows is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by an integer overflow in the Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS) when handling specially-crafted packets. By sending specially-crafted NTLM packets during the NTLM authentication process, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause the process to stop responding and force a reboot.
