NetBSD global package allows remote user to execute commands

Description:
The Global package could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the system, due to a vulnerability in the CGI interface. The Global CGI interface fails to properly handle quoted and escaped characters. By sending a specially-crafted format string to the CGI interface, a remote attacker can execute shell commands on the system.

Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of global (4.0.1 or later), available from the Tama Communications Corporation Web site, or from The NetBSD packages collection (pkgsrc). See References.
