Description:
Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) could allow a remote attacker to view files in the Web directory. Vulnerable systems include Web servers that use Chinese, Japanese, or Korean as their default language. Due to improper validation of HTTP requests containing double-byte character sets, a remote attacker can submit a specially-crafted HTTP request with incomplete double-byte characters to cause IIS to open files that cannot be interpreted, such as text files (including Active Server Pages) or binary system files. An attacker can use this vulnerability to gain access to sensitive information.
