Ikonboard allows remote attacker to execute commands

Description:
Ikonboard could allow a local attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the Web server, due to insufficient checking of user-supplied input in the register.cgi script. A local attacker can use the $SEND_MAIL variable in a URL to execute arbitrary binaries as the current user. An attacker can use this vulnerability to gain root privileges.

Upgrade to the latest version of Ikonboard (2.1.7 or later), available from the Ikonboard Downloads Web site. See References.
