Description:

The zope package could allow a remote attacker to gain elevated privileges, due to insecure handling of "legacy" names for DTML Method objects. A remote attacker could call the constructors and create new DTML Method instances through the Web without having the proper permissions. The attacker must be knowledgeable with the zope package to exploit this vulnerability.

Apply the Zope hotfix release (2000-12-08), available from the Zope.org Web site. See References.

Upgrade to the latest version of zope (2.2.4-3 or later), as listed in Red Hat, Inc. Security Advisory RHSA-2000:125-02. See References.
